Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Highway 11 on Tuesday that claimed the life of a Toronto resident. OPP said officers responded to the scene at Highway 11 and Country Lane Road at about 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 1. Victim pronounced deceased “A 41-year-old person from Toronto was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased,” police said in a release Wednesday. OPP have not released the identity of the deceased. Highway reopened after investigation Highway 11 was closed for about 11 hours while OPP investigated the area. Police have not disclosed the cause of the crash or whether any charges are being considered. “The investigation remains ongoing,” OPP said. Police seek witnesses Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area at or around the time of the collision to call provincial police at 1-888-310-1122 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
