Two adults have been charged after police in Greater Sudbury say officers seized about $58,000 in cocaine and fentanyl during an investigation on Thursday. On Oct. 1, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service were investigating an intimate partner violence-related incident at a Granite Street residence. “During the investigation, officers located a quantity of illicit drugs within the residence,” police said in a news release Friday. “Two adults were arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.” Search warrant executed at residence Officers secured the residence while police obtained and executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant. As a result of the search, police said officers seized about 464 grams of cocaine, approximately 118 grams of fentanyl and about $10,000 in cash. “The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $58,000,” said police. Two face multiple charges As a result of the investigation, the pair were each charged with two drug trafficking offences and possession of property obtained by crime. One of the individuals is also charged with breaching a release order. One accused attended bail court on Oct. 2, to answer to the charges, while the second was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
