Essex-Windsor EMS will be in a legal strike position as of Monday. As of Friday, there is no indication if it will happen, as both sides are keeping quiet about negotiations. The County of Essex has asked for re-consideration of service drops in staffing if a strike takes place. Paramedics aren’t considered essential and can strike. But the service has to keep a certain number of paramedics on shift to ensure the community has medical response. Updates will be provided as they become available.
