One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus and a tow truck near Martensville on Thursday evening. RCMP say officers were called to the scene at about 7:45 p.m. on Highway 12 in the southeast corner of Martensville. Police say the collision involved a tow truck and a school bus carrying 22 occupants, including adults and students from a local high school. Prairie Spirit School Division says the bus was transporting Martensville High School football players home from a game at SMF Field in Saskatoon when it rear-ended another large vehicle on the Highway 12 off-ramp into Martensville. Emergency crews, including local fire departments, EMS and the Corman Park Police Service, responded to the scene. The Martensville Fire Department says 15 firefighters attended the crash and established medical triage and traffic control. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. According to RCMP, multiple people on the bus were assessed by EMS at the scene. Prairie Spirit School Division says the bus driver was assessed and cleared by medical staff at the scene. The division says two students were taken for precautionary medical care with their parents. The driver, who was the only person in the tow truck, was not injured, police said. The northbound off-ramp into Martensville was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by RCMP.
