An 80-year-old resident is facing a charge of careless driving after a police officer was struck by a vehicle in Pembroke, Ont. An Ontario Provincial Police officer was directing traffic at the intersection of Drive-In Road and Pembroke Street East at 4:45 p.m. Thursday following a collision. “A vehicle making a left turn from Drive-In Road onto Pembroke Street East struck the officer,” the OPP said in a media release. “Fortunately, no injuries were sustained.” Police say, as a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
