Two Lanark County paramedics are being treated for injuries after being involved in a crash on Highway 15 in Rideau Lakes. Ontario Provincial Police say an ambulance was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 15 in the Elgin area on Monday. There were no patients onboard the ambulance at the time of the crash. The Mississippi River Health Alliance confirmed an ambulance with the Lanark County Paramedic Service was involved in a crash in the “early morning hours” of Monday. “Two paramedics were transported to hospital for assessment and treatment. We are relieved to share that both paramedics are stable and recovering,” the alliance said in a statement. “Our primary concern is the wellbeing of our staff, and we are grateful for the support shown by the community.” No information was released on the extent of the injuries, but police said they were considered non-life threatening.
