Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 48-year-old man on nearly a dozen charges following an investigation into a domestic dispute. Police said in a news release that officers responded to a report of a dispute involving two people in the village of Cobden, just north of Renfrew on Friday shortly after 8 p.m. The man from Chapeau, Que. was arrested on 10 charges, including assault with a weapon, assault, utter threats to cause death or bodily harm, forcible confinement and dangerous operation. He was also charged with several weapons-related charges, including: The suspect was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The OPP says it will not be releasing the suspect’s name to protect the identity of the victim.
