The weather service said a multi-day heat event is expected to begin Friday and last four days, with temperatures slated to exceed 32 degrees, with humidex values pushing that figure to 45 degrees. Overnight low temperatures are expected to remain high, not dropping below 16 degrees. Temperatures are expected to drop down to the high 20s on Tuesday, July 14. Regina, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Weyburn and Estevan were covered by the orange heat warning, while much of the south central and southwest including Swift Current and Saskatoon fell under a slightly less severe yellow warning. The weather service asked residents to exercise caution, watch out for the early signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
