A liquor company in Regina has received a sizable fine after a worker was seriously injured in 2023. WH Wines & Spirits Ltd. pleaded guilty in Regina Provincial Court to one violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations on June 23, 2026, according to an update from the province on Friday. On Sept. 18, 2023, at a Regina worksite, a worker was seriously injured when their upper body was pinned under a vehicle. The company was charged with failing to ensure that no worker is permitted to be under a raised vehicle or trailer unless its weight is safely supported by a hoist, stands, or blocks, resulting in a serious injury of a worker. The court imposed a fine of $20,000 and a victim fine surcharge of $8,000. WH Wines & Spirits additionally made a voluntary donation of $10,000 to the Saskatchewan Safety Council.
