Regina police have charged four people following a one-day retail blitz on June 25. Officers with the Regina Police Service (RPS) Criminal Investigation Unit, Property Crimes Unit and Robbery Unit worked to identify and arrest shoplifters at two businesses on the 2000 block of Prince of Wales Drive and one business on the 2100 block of Prince of Wales Drive. According to an update from RPS on Friday, the suspects were arrested outside the businesses after they were seen leaving without paying for their items. Police said various grocery and household products were among the stolen items. RPS said it is renewing its focus on retail theft enforcement through the Retail Theft Strategy. The strategy involves officers identifying ongoing crime trends, locations and repeat offenders. RPS encourages business owners to invest in security cameras and always report theft to police using the Online Reporting System.
