Regina will get its first taste of Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) action when the Saskatchewan Rattlers bring training camp to the Queen City for the very first time on May 9th and 10th. The University of Regina’s Centre for Kineseology, Health and Sport will play host to the team’s entire training camp roster during the two day stop. This will mark the first time that the Rattlers have held their annual try-out outside of Saskatoon. “The City of Regina has always been a basketball hotbed and passionately supported the Rattlers,” said head coach Eric Magdanz in a release. The team says it’ll be an opportunity for fans to see what this year’s team will look like and meet their heroes. Fans are invited to the gymnasium on May 10th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Rattlers have added Regina Cougars head coach Steve Burrows to their coaching staff. They’ve also signed players like Takai Molson, Elisha Ampofo, Cody John, and Regina’s Isaac Simon. Rattlers training camp will begin on May 7th at Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon. The team’s home opener will tip off on May 15th at the SaskTel Centre when Saskatchewan welcomes the Vancouver Bandits to town.
