A man and a woman are facing charges following an attempted robbery in the early hours of Thursday in Regina. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 4200 block of Dewdney Avenue following the report of a robbery around 12:50 a.m., according to a news release from the Regina Police Service. Information indicated a man and woman were attempting to steal items from a business and had assaulted a staff member during the incident. The man fled the area on a bicycle and the woman fled on foot, police said. Soon after, one of the officers found an abandoned bicycle nearby and the man matching the suspect description. He was taken into custody without incident. At around 3:15 a.m., another officer found the woman after she returned to the area of the business. She was also taken into custody without incident. The man and woman, both 38, are charged with robbery. The man is additionally charged with resisting arrest and failure to comply with a probation order. Both are scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday at 2 p.m.
