A mechanical issue caused a failed takeoff for a WestJet aircraft that was trying to leave Regina Wednesday morning. In a statement to CTV News, the company confirmed that WestJet Encore flight 3371 safely returned to the gate after the rejected takeoff. “Maintenance specialists determined that a replacement part was required before the aircraft could return to service. As a result, WS3371 was cancelled,” read the statement. WestJet said passengers were reaccommodated on alternate flights, with most arriving in Calgary Wednesday.
