Repair work will begin next week on a Saskatoon overpass struck by a vehicle earlier this year. Work on the 108th Street overpass over Circle Drive is set to begin Sept. 14. On March 11, a semi driving northbound on Circle Drive and hauling oversized equipment struck the overpass at 108th Street and caused significant damage to multiple girders. It was one of at least eight overpasses hit in the province so far this year. The driver responsible for striking the interchange of Highways 11 and 16 in March was fined $11,200. Work on the 108th Street overpass is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting. The northbound curb lane on Circle Drive below the overpass will be closed during repairs. The 108th Street eastbound curb lane on the overpass will also be closed. For pedestrians, the sidewalk on the overpass will be closed during the work period. The westbound curb lane will also be closed, to accommodate pedestrians.
