A Saskatoon-area woman is facing several charges after RCMP allege she withdrew funds from a victim’s bank account without consent after being appointed power of attorney. Saskatoon RCMP say they received a report on June 17, 2025, that funds had been stolen from victim’s bank account. RCMP then launched an investigation along with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Central District General Investigation Section. Police allege the accused, who had been granted power of attorney, withdrew money from the victim’s account without consent. As a result, the woman has been charged with theft by power of attorney, fraud over $5,000 and misappropriation of money held under direction. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance in Saskatoon on Nov. 18. Police are not identifying the accused in order to protect the identity and well-being of the victim.
