A 41-year-old Saskatoon man is facing 10 criminal charges following an investigation into alleged sexual assaults involving five children at St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre. Saskatoon police say they received a report of sexual interference involving a staff member at a school in the 300 block of Avenue N South on May 26. At the time, police say investigators with the service’s Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation. Following the investigation and consultation with the Crown prosecutor’s office, the man was charged with five counts of sexual assault and five counts of assault. Police say the alleged offences occurred between Sept. 1, 2025, and May 25, 2026. The investigation involves five victims who were about 10 years old at the time of the alleged offences. In a statement to CTV News, the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Division said the staff member has been dismissed. “We were made aware of allegations May 25, 2026, and the staff member was immediately assigned to home pending an investigation. After a brief internal investigation, the staff member was dismissed,” the statement read. The school division said it’s not able to share additional details for privacy reasons. “Our primary concern is the well-being of students, families and staff. Supports are available for students and staff affected by these incidents.” The accused is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Sept. 16.
