43-year-old hiker missing in B.C.’s Sea to Sky region: SAR

A hiker has gone missing after last being seen near the Sea to Sky gondola summit at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 30.

A 43-year-old hiker has been reported missing after he was last seen at the summit of the Sea to Sky gondola on Sunday morning.

Squamish Search and Rescue say Stanislav Volo was planning to hike from the gondola summit to the Habrich Climber’s access trail and traverse the ridge before returning to the gondola summit via Al’s Habrich Trail.

Search and rescue staff released photos of Volo and said he was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, shorts and a small backpack.

Anyone with information or who saw Volo in the area yesterday has been asked to call Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100.
