A homemade sign was installed above the entrance to a public bathroom in B.C. over the long weekend, renaming the facilities after the U.S. president. The sign, which bore a resemblance to a wooden plaque and went up near the Galloping Goose Trail in Victoria, declaring the restrooms adjacent to the popular trail as the “Donald J. Trump Memorial.” The City of Victoria, in a statement, said the rogue installation was reported Sunday and taken down around 6 p.m. that day. A spokesperson for the city also said there are no security cameras that would have captured video of who put it up. It’s not the first time the president has inspired a scatological response from someone on Vancouver Island amid the trade war. Over the summer, a local artist painted a portrait of Donald Trump using a medium she thought “seemed appropriate” for the subject—horse manure. The piece sold for $1,800. On Tuesday, amid an escalation of the trade war, B.C. Premier David Eby unveiled a government-sanctioned sign taking a shot at Trump. Those signs will soon be installed at U.S. border crossings declaring the province “never the 51st state.”
