The Beer Store will pay customers 20 per cent more on each empty alcohol container this Earth Day on April 22. “If you have empties in your basement or garage, Earth Day is the time to bring them back, get 20 per cent more, and get your deposit back,” said Roy Benin, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Beer Store. This promotion is only applicable to empty alcohol containers purchased in Ontario returned for deposit refund at Beer Store retail locations, not Empty Container Dealers. Kegs are excluded from this promotional offer. The offer expires Wednesday night when Beer Stores close at either 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. “This is an additional 20 per cent on the existing $0.10 and $0.20 cent deposit for alcohol containers purchased in Ontario,” according to the TBS news release. Last year, Beer Store customers returned 1.6 billion empty containers for reuse and recycling.
