Fine dining and a murder mystery are in store for a special charity dinner this weekend in Windsor. Windsor-based Stigma Enigma is hosting its annual “Mingle for Maryvale”. A delicious five-course gourmet meal by Spago and an interactive Prohibition era-themed murder-mystery challenge are on tap for a fun night for this community cause. Guests are encouraged and welcome to dress in the period’s attire. Stigma Enigma is a charitable organization that supports mental health initiatives that help to breakdown stereotypes about mental illness and raise funds to bolster medical and education care for youth dealing with such challenges. The event will be held on Saturday, October 18 at St. Angela Hall in downtown Windsor. It’s a vital fundraiser that will continue to support the financial needs of the school and care facility that is dedicated to helping students who are dealing with mental health challenges such as depression and suicidal ideation. Dr. Patrick Smith is the founder and chair of Stigma Enigma. “Because of our community stepping forward, we’re now into our 11th year,” said Dr. Smith. “We’ve been able to donate directly over $1 million to Maryville. And the best thing about that is that has shortened their waiting list. At one time, they had about 200 kids and adolescents waiting for a mental health care. And some of them were at very high risk. And now their waiting list is minimal.”
