The Windsor-Essex Sports Persons of the Year, or WESPY Awards, will be announced next month. The nominees were unveiled on Tuesday. Nicole Coffey and Ben Balkwill are this year’s Knobby Knudsen Volunteer of the Year Award winners. The St. Clair Women’s Soccer Team, University of Windsor’s Men’s Volleyball Team, and the Windsor Selects Junior Baseball Team all had standout seasons and are up for Team of the Year. Both the female and male Athlete of the Year categories are packed with great performers.
