South Simcoe Police have charged a driver and business with numerous offences after pulling over a commercial vehicle in Bradford on Friday. According to the service, officers conducted a roadside inspection at around noon on Yonge Street just north of Line 8. Police say they found multiple safety violations, including an unsecured tarp, improper trailer brakes, and a cracked suspension, ultimately deeming the vehicle unsafe for driving. The officers seized its license plates and towed it away. The driver, a 21-year-old Brampton man, was charged with four offences under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), while a Thornhill business was charged with five offences. “Commercial vehicle inspections take time, but that time is an investment in road safety,” said South Simcoe Police in a social media post. “Identifying unsafe vehicles before they contribute to a collision helps protect everyone travelling on our roads.”
