Police in Bradford West Gwillimbury have laid charges against a driver after a collision sent one person to hospital. On Tuesday, officers responded to a collision around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Holland Street West and Park Avenue. South Simcoe Police say a pedestrian was struck by a Honda minivan making a turn from West Park Avenue onto Holland Street West. Police say the van entered the crosswalk while the pedestrian signal was still active and operational. The collision hospitalized the pedestrian with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, police say. Following an investigation, police have charged a 37-year-old North York man with careless driving. The accused is set to appear in court in November.
