The Calgary Flames will have another new face in the lineup Tuesday night against the Colorado Avalanche. Rory Kerins has been called up from the Calgary Wranglers. It’s the last call-up the Flames can make this season. “I think just go out there and play—just show what I can do and have fun doing it,” Kerins said. “I was out for a little bit and was watching games, so (I’m) just happy to be playing.” Kerins did play a couple of games with the Flames earlier this season. In all, this will be his eighth game with the big club. “Just play your game—come in and do your thing,” head coach Ryan Huska said. “We’re looking for him to be confident and composed with the puck—and I think one of his strengths is that he makes NHL plays with it—and handle a heavier workload against a very good team tonight.” Nazem Kadri is back in Calgary for the first time since being traded to the Avalanche on March 6. He won’t play tonight due to an injury, but Kadri did skate by himself and says he has a lot of fond memories of the building. “It’s definitely nostalgic, for sure—feels like it was just yesterday I was playing here because it kind of was,” Kadri said. “It’s always nice to be back in the Dome and the city of Calgary, and obviously, it’s a place I’m very fond of.” Kadri says his only regret from his time with the Flames is not making the playoffs. Now, he has a chance to win another cup. “I would’ve never wanted to leave this place, so that’s how much I enjoyed it,” Kadri said. “But obviously, just where things are in the standings as a veteran player, just to be given another opportunity—some of the best memories of my career have been in the playoffs, and I wanted to revisit that.”
