The Okotoks Dawgs closed out the Energy City Cactus Rats Saturday night, winning 16-6 to advance to the second round of the WCBL playoffs. Landon Kauffman led the way with two hits, two walks and two runs for the Dawgs. Matt Evans had two hits, an RBI and a walk. Eric Machej had three hits and scored a pair of runs. Evan Lehnert tossed four strong innings for Okotoks, and on the back end, Emmet Stacher struck out six in two innings of work and Reid Madriaga held the Cactus Rats scoreless. The Dawgs advance to the western conference final against the winner of the Lethbridge-Sylvan Lake series, which is tied at a game each. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Seaman Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
