The second of two brothers convicted in the death of a young man at a Copperfield basketball court has received his sentence. Danillo Canales Glenn, 18, was pepper-sprayed, assaulted and stabbed to death on Sept. 5, 2023. Two brothers, one 16 and the other 18, were arrested the next day. Both were initially charged with second-degree murder but both pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was handed an 18-month sentence in July 2025 – 12 months in custody followed by six months under community supervision. Now 20, the older brother was sentenced to eight years on Tuesday. He cannot be identified as doing so would reveal his brother’s identity.
