Calgary police have identified a 16-year-old girl as the victim of a deadly assault in the city’s southwest. Angeline Boucher died at the scene in the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. Police say officers were sent there around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to check out reports of a stabbing. Police believe Boucher and an unknown person were involved in an altercation nearby at 24th Street and Woodview Drive S.W. Sixteen-year-old Boucher was identified by police on Thursday after an autopsy was conducted. Some who live in the area say their safe community has had more crime lately, including thefts and slashed tires. People are sad to hear someone was killed. “I hurt for the family and the people involved and everything, but it’s weird when it hits so close to home, right?” Zach Lastwika. On Thursday, a bouquet of flowers marked the area along Woodview Drive S.W. where Boucher was discovered. Someone left the flowers and another neighbour secured them. “I tied them to the fence, so hopefully no one takes them, because it’s just out of respect,” said Helena Erkamps. Some neighbours say they heard shouting and one says she thought she saw four people around 5 a.m. This investigation is ongoing. No one’s currently in custody. Investigators believe the incident was targeted and that the weapon was ditched in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
