Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a series of break-and-enters on Deer Ridge Drive and Newbury Drive in Kitchener. All of them happened on Aug. 15. Police said a black BMW SUV was spotted on Deer Ridge Drive between 5:20 p.m. and 6 p.m., and then on Newbury Drive around 8:50 p.m. They also want to identify a man who was in the Deer Ridge neighbourhood at approximately 11:30 a.m. that day. “The individual was seen walking through the area, taking photographs of homes and yards,” a media release said. Police shared a photo of the person they want to speak to on Wednesday. The man was described as white, approximately 40 years old and 5’10” to 6’0” tall, with short dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, maroon t-shirt and blue jeans. “As part of the investigation, officers are asking residents and motorists who were in the area and may have dash camera, residential security camera, or other video footage to review their recordings and submit any relevant footage,” the media release said.
