A Scarborough resident has been charged after allegedly firing a gun as multiple suspects attempted to steal a vehicle from the driveway of their home early Wednesday morning. The incident happened in the Cliffcrest neighbourhood, near Kingston and McCowan roads. Toronto police said they were called to the area at 2:41 a.m. Investigators say they learned that an unknown number of suspects were attempting to steal a vehicle from the driveway of a home when a firearm was discharged by one of its residents. A nearby dwelling sustained damage from the gunfire, police said. No injuries have been reported. The suspects, meanwhile, fled the scene prior to police arrival. An unnamed resident of the home has been charged. Police have not said what charges they are facing.
