London police say they have finally cleared Chesham Avenue following a chemical weapons investigation. Police were originally called to 212 Chesham Ave. on Jan. 24 after a person with a gun was found trespassing at an engineering building on campus at Western University. Police say they found hazardous chemicals inside the home that could be used to make explosives. In total, four people are facing numerous weapons offences. One of the co-accused, Zekun Wang made a brief court appearance Monday. His case was moved to Friday to set a date for a bail hearing. He remains in custody. On Friday, police held a media briefing and said during recent searches in Ottawa and Gatineau, police seized more firearms and explosive materials. Police said items seized during multiple search warrants suggest the accused were involved in manufacturing firearms and explosives.
