The workers staged a picket line outside Community Living London. demanding higher wages and retroactive pay. They say their target is not their employer, but the provincial government. Union leaders say the money provided to Community Living London is not enough to afford pay raises similar to workers in other care sectors. “It’s not just about our wages, and it’s not just about our jobs. It’s about the people we support, and some of the group homes, if they had four people living there, today they have six to eight people living there, and the people there do not understand what is happening,” said Lisa Fewster with OPSEU Local 166.
