The province’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a woman who was found dead in her home on Friday. According to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), just after midnight very early Friday morning police attended a business on Fanshawe Road West to do a welfare check. After speaking with a 32-year-old woman they dropped her off at her home in the area of Fanshawe Park Road West and Pinnacle Parkway. Early Friday morning, a family member found the woman dead in her home. A post-mortem is scheduled for Sunday. The SIU is an independent body that investigates incidents where a member of the public is killed, injured, or assaulted by police.
