Two people extricated following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 eastbound at Union Road in Middlesex County Friday. Highway 401 eastbound lanes have been reopened. A commercial vehicle struck the rear of a transport truck. The driver and passenger of the commercial vehicle were freed by firefighters and were taken to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. The highway was closed for several hours while they cleared out the roads.
