An 18-year-old man is facing multiple assault charges in relation to a bear spray incident outside a Saskatoon school earlier this year. Saskatoon police say he has been charged with five counts of assault with a weapon. He was 17 at the time of the incident. Shortly after 9 a.m. on May 20, police were called to the school in the 2200 block of Rusholme Road following a report that a noxious spray had been discharged. Arriving officers found several people suffering from the effects of bear spray. Police said the suspect had left before officers arrived but was identified and was known to one of the victims.
