A small aircraft was forced to land on Highway 11 North last week in Perry Township, Ontario Provincial Police say. The call came in about an aircraft on the road around 6 p.m. Sept. 18, police said in a social media post Tuesday. “Officers, along with emergency services, responded quickly to the scene,” the OPP said. “Upon arrival, it was determined a small aircraft had experienced mechanical failure and conducted an emergency landing. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.” The highway was closed briefly so the plane could be removed and reopened a short time later without incident. “The OPP would like to thank motorists for their patience and cooperation during the brief road closure,” police said.
