Oxford OPP have confirmed the identity of human remains discovered in Woodstock in September. On Mon. Sept. 1, 2025, police responded to a property on Beachville Road for reports of suspected remains. The remains were later confirmed to be human. In a news release on Wednesday, Oxford OPP identified the remains as those of 45-year-old Cory Gigault of Woodstock. Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death. In February 2024 Woodstock police issued a call for help from the public in Gigault’s disappearance, who was last seen in Woodstock in July 2023. The Oxford OPP Crime Unit is investigating, along with the Office of the Ontario Coroner and the province’s Forensic Pathology Service.
