A trial began Monday for a local plastic surgeon charged with sexual assault. Robert Richards, 65, has pleaded not guilty over an incident from Jan. 13, 2023. The court has heard the woman involved in the case had an intimate relationship with Richards. She was the first to testify, “I told him multiple times to stop doing that.” She continued, “I was crying and telling him that’s not what I wanted.” She cannot be identified under a court order. The trial before justice Alissa Mitchell is expected to last a week.
