A campaign to bring an MRI machine to the hospital in Goderich has surpassed $3 million. The ‘Magnetic Moments’ campaign hit the milestone on Tuesday, as they push towards their $6.5 million fundraising goal. There currently isn’t an MRI machine in Huron or Bruce County, meaning patients are travelling to Owen Sound, Stratford and London for important imaging. Officials with the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation say the diagnostic tool will be important in providing care closer to home for thousands of midwestern Ontario residents. The goal is to complete fundraising next year, with the MRI operational at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich in 2028.
