A little bit of Halloween has arrived early at the Great Canadian Superstore in Chatham and this is one lucky catch. A rare orange lobster turned up in the seafood department while employees were unloading a shipment of live lobsters. They’ve named it Pumpkin. and the odds of finding one like this are often estimated at 1 in 30 million. The lobster weighs roughly one to one-and-a-half pounds, small enough to fit in both hands and has quickly become a bit of a celebrity with customers. Pumpkin is hanging out in the store’s lobster tank, where curious customers have been stopping by for a look. The Superstore manager Keith Cornell says he’s hoping that’s only temporary. He says the store has reached out to an aquarium, hoping Pumpkin can trade the seafood department for a permanent new home. Until then, this rare little lobster is enjoying a whole lot of attention and a pretty shell-ebrity status in Chatham.
