The London Police Service (LPS) says they have charged one suspect for impersonating a police officer in the south-east end of the city earlier this week. According to police, the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when two men approached the male victim outside his home on River Road. One of the suspects allegedly claimed to be an officer and told the victim he was under arrest, but the victim was suspicious as the suspects had arrived in a grey Jeep SUV dressed in street clothes. The victim went to a nearby business for help, and the suspect forcibly entered the victim’s home before fleeing. Investigators identified one of the suspects and arrested him on June 3 at a residence on Ashley Crescent and seized the vehicle. The 33 year old from Grand Bend was charged with personating a peace officer, criminal harassment by repeated following, break and enter with intent, and disguise with intent. Investigators continue to search for a second suspect described as a Black man, approximately 6’4, wearing a black hoodie and black pants at the time.
