Winter looms on the horizon with Friday’s forecast, with the chance of mixed precipitation in the cards. According to CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, Friday’s system will bring gusty winds and double digit temperatures before the plunge as, “we are expecting periods of rain… cool air will follow this system.” Clouds are expected to linger into Friday night before the next weather system moves through on Sunday. “There is the risk of a wintery mix in London, but north of London we could see some accumulating snow areas of northern Huron and Perth County, Grey and Bruce,” warned Atchison. That will be the first snowfall of the season for the region, with temperatures overnight falling into the negatives. Heading toward Remembrance Day next week, it looks like gatherings at community cenotaphs will likely require dressing for the weather. “Remembrance Day looks cold at three degrees… We’ll be bundling up, definitely winter jackets and warm mitts, break out the winter gear,” Atchison said. “You’re going to need it in the extended forecast.” Here’s a look at London’s long-range forecast Thursday night: Partly cloudy.
