Canadian artist Briony Douglas unveiled a new 25-foot sculpture in St. Thomas Thursday afternoon. “Imagination Station was created with the intention to make people happy,” said Douglas. “That’s so much of what my art is about. I love to be the reason someone smiles and I think that’s really important in today’s day and age.” The sculpture was installed at the gateway at the city’s new industrial park Yarmouth Yards. The works draws on St. Thomas’ identity as Canada’s Railway City “I grew up around the corner my whole life, so it was really cool to be asked to create a piece here,” said Douglas. “A little bit more about the piece is the circular. The circle is meant to represent the past, connecting with the future.”
