Fire in empty silos at Montreal-East industrial site now under control

Around 60 firefighters are on scene after a fire was reported in two silos at an industrial building in Montreal-East.

Around 60 firefighters from the Montreal fire department (SIM) were dispatched to an industrial building in Montreal-East where a fire broke out in two silos.

By 8 p.m., the SIM said the fire on Sherbrooke Street near Gamble Avenue and Joseph-Versailles Boulevard had been brought under control.

After further investigation, the SIM said the fire involved emissions from empty silos.

No injuries were reported, and there is no risk to nearby buildings.
