Prince Albert police say they’re investigating the death of a 27-year-old woman as a homicide after an autopsy was completed Thursday. Police identified the victim as Daina Gauthier. Shortly before 2 a.m. on July 30, officers were called to a report of a stabbing in the unit block of 14th Street East. When officers arrived, they found Gauthier suffering from serious injuries and provided first aid until Parkland Ambulance arrived. She was taken to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate with support from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Police say a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with the incident. No charges have been announced. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who witnessed events leading up to it, to contact PAPS or Crime Stoppers.
