MONTREAL — Three people have lost their lives, and several others are in a critical condition following three separate collisions that occurred on Quebec’s roads during the night from Saturday to Sunday, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has reported. One person has died, and there are fears for the lives of three others following a vehicle leaving the road in Franquelin, on the Côte-Nord. Emergency services attended the scene of the collision, which involved a single vehicle, at around 3:20 a.m. on Route 138 at kilometre 804. “Four people were in the vehicle when the driver reportedly lost control of it, for reasons as yet unknown,” said Valérie Beauchamp, a spokesperson for the SQ. The four people were taken to hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead. The other three occupants of the vehicle remain in a critical condition, and their lives are feared to be in danger, the SQ said. The ages and genders of those on board the vehicle on Sunday morning were still unknown. An SQ collision reconstruction specialist was on his way to the scene. Two out of three lanes remained closed in the area. Vehicle ran off the road in Saint-Tite-des-Caps A 37-year-old woman has died, and a man in his thirties is in a critical condition following a road collision on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps, in the Capitale-Nationale region. Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision at around 6 a.m. on Sunday. “The driver was travelling eastbound when he veered off his lane and is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over,” for reasons as yet unknown, said Beauchamp. Both occupants of the car were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The passenger, a 37-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the hospital, whilst the driver, a man in his thirties, was still in a critical condition on Sunday morning. A police officer specializing in collision investigations was on his way to the scene of the collision to examine the scene. One dead in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse A 35-year-old man has died in a road collision in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. Emergency services were called to Route 132 East, near Chemin du Mistral, after midnight in connection with this collision. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, is believed to have lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason before veering off the road, said Beauchamp. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
