A Sudbury road reopened early Thursday afternoon after Greater Sudbury fire crews responded to a natural gas leak on Haig Street. Fire officials said the threat has been dealt with and a home near the city’s Caruso Club has been aired out. Fire crews responded Thursday morning to the gas leak. “We have hazmat technicians working with Enbridge to control the hazard,” the fire department said in a social media post earlier in the day. “Residents can expect disruptions to gas and hydro utilities in the area. Haig is closed to all traffic. Further traffic interruptions may occur on neighbouring roads as we work to mitigate the problem.” No other details have been released.
