Police in Metro Vancouver are searching for a suspect after an alleged indecent act in a public washroom. Officers with the Burnaby RCMP responded to a complaint from a public washroom on the west side of Central Park on Aug. 19. The victim reported using the men’s washroom around 7 p.m. that day, when another man stood next to him and began masturbating, the Burnaby RCMP said in a news release Friday. The suspect had left the scene by the time police arrived. Investigators described the suspect as a Middle Eastern man between 35 and 40 years old. He stood approximately 5’10” tall with a slim build and was wearing a black T-shirt, multicoloured shorts and a fanny pack over his shoulder, police said. “Investigators are working to gather evidence in an effort to identify the suspect and will be looking for any potential connections to previously reported incidents,” the release said. “Police want to ensure the public is aware of this incident, so they can take appropriate safety precautions, including remaining aware of their surroundings and immediately reporting any suspicious activity.” Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
