After seventy years of service, the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario are still going strong. Members of the Windsor chapter celebrated seven decades of “caring and sharing” on Thursday. The mayors of Windsor, LaSalle, and Tecumseh were among those who attended the celebration. For many, being part of the RWTO is simply an extension of the dedication they showed in the classroom. “In the classroom, we supported our students and their families—taking them on field trips, sometimes feeding them, bringing food or clothes from home for our students," shared Gina Marcon, Chapter President. We were always there trying to support them, and that commitment continues into our retirement.” With 250 members, the chapter supports women retired from the teaching profession—whether they are living in nursing homes, long‑term care facilities, or still at home.
