Provincial police have arrested a suspect last week in a months-long drug trafficking investigation in Orillia. According to Orillia OPP, the detachment’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) investigated an Albert Street home near Barrie Road throughout the summer. Then, at around 5:30 a.m. this past Friday, a warrant was executed by Orillia OPP’s officers, CSCU, Community Mobilization Unit, Nottawasaga OPP’s CSCU, and Caledon OPP’s CSCU. Police say they seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, crack-cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone tablets and oxycodone tablets. More than $10,000 in Canadian currency, 29 grams of gold bar, and prohibited weapons were also seized in the raid. A 37-year-old from Orillia was arrested and faces the following charges: The accused was held pending a bail hearing on the day he was arrested.
