10 things to do in Calgary over the Labour Day long weekend (Sept. 4 - 7)

There are plenty of local events and activities to check out in Calgary this weekend.

Calgary Pride Week 2026

• What: Celebrate gender and sexual diversity at Calgary Pride Week by taking in performances, a marketplace, beer gardens and more.
• When: Until Sunday, Sept. 6.
• Where: Various venues across Calgary

Calgary Pride Parade

• What: Celebrate Calgary’s LGBTQ community and the continued fight for visibility, safety and equity at the 2026 Calgary Pride Parade.
• When: 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6.
• Where: Ninth Avenue S.W., starting at Fifth Street S.W. and wrapping at Fourth Street S.E.

Stamps vs. Elks

• What: The Calgary Stampeders take on the Edmonton Elks in the 2026 Labour Day Classic.
• When: 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
• Where: McMahon Stadium, 1817 Crowchild Tr. N.W.

How To Train Your Dragon 2

• What: Composer John Powell’s thrilling score is performed live by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra while How to Train Your Dragon 2 plays.
• When: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
• Where: Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, 1415 14 Ave. N.W.

Inglewood Night Market

• What: Head to the Inglewood Night Market to check out dozens of local vendors selling hand-made items, vintage clothing and antiques. Once you’re done shopping you can get a bite to eat or relax in the beer garden.
• When: 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4.
• Where: Inglewood, 10 Avenue and 10 Street S.E., near The Nash restaurant.

Preview the Masters

• What: Though the Masters doesn’t start until Sept. 9, you can preview the show jumping event on Labour Day. While there are no show jumping competitions, guests can experience the entertainment, shopping and family activities that are normally at the event.
• When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
• Where: ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows, 18011 Spruce Meadows Way S.W.

Labour Day tea

• What: Celebrate Labour Day by sipping tea at Heritage Park. The Labour Day Tea event includes park admission, sweet treats and finger sandwiches – as well as freshly brewed tea or lemonade.
• When: 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7
• Where: Famous 5 Centre of Canadian Women, Heritage Park, 1900 Heritage Dr S.W.

Calaway Park

• What: Calaway Park is open for the 2026 season, featuring dozens of family-friendly rides, tempting treats and live entertainment.
• When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays.

Rock Around the Clock with Elvis and Friends

• What: Jubilations Dinner Theatre presents Rock Around the Clock with Elvis and Friends, a throwback to 1950s rock and roll.

Unnecessary Farce
